National African American Read-In Storytime

You are welcome to bring your favorite title by an African-American author to read (or have read) for the group, or just join us and listen. Appropriate for all ages and especially families with children 2-12+ years old.

Featuring a showing of the Oscar nominated animated short film: Hair Love.

The National African American Read-in is a groundbreaking effort to encourage communities to read together, centering African American books and authors. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month.
